Workforce Innovative and Opportunity Act (WIOA)

The Out of School program provides basic skills needed to obtain a GED, and work readiness experience training needed to obtain a job for youth 16-24.  Through case management, participants will receive assistance with academic concerns and potential remediation needs. Case managers ensure that each participant develops and follows through on their Individual Service Strategy (ISS), and decides upon appropriate vocational/educational options to pursue.  Services include: academic counseling, vocational planning, work readiness training and focus on core skills that participants need to prepare for employment, interviewing skills, and money management.
